The BMW X5 is a luxurious 4WD seven seat car. This big 4x4 drives exceptionally well and is extremely nimble considering it is such a large MPV. The third row seats have to be ordered as an extra.

The BMW X5 is currently available in 7 models; five diesel and two petrol. There are three sport editions, three SE editions and currently one 10 year edition. The BMW X5 is a 4x4 is available as both a 5 and a 7 Seater car. However you must specify that you require a 7 Seater Model when purchasing, as the standard models have only 5 seats.

The BMW x5 most economical model is the X5 xDrive 30d SE. This model does an average of 34.4 miles to the gallon, which shouldn't technically be called economical! However when you compare the x5 xDrive 48i M Sport version that only does a 23.3 miles to the gallon it is the more economical version.

However this figure has been taken from a national discount car service provider so the actual cost may vary locally.

Conclusion

Despite the extra expense in insurance, car tax, initial purchase and ongoing running costs I would still love to own a BMW X5. This 4x4 has an air of masculinity which contributes to its mass attraction.
