Toyota Prius+ - 7 Seater
Toyota is due to release a 7 seater hybrid car in 2011 across Europe. It will be available in the UK from 2012. The model will carry the name Toyota Prius Plus, (Prius+). Industry sources speculate that it will be launched at the annual Geneva Motor Show 2012.

Toyota Prius Plus – Purchase Price
The price for the Toyota Prius MPV Plus 7 seater has not yet been officially released by Toyota. It is likely to be higher than that of the current 5 seater Toyota Prius, which costs between £20,000 and £25,000.

The Miles Per Gallon achievable on the Toyota Prius Plus is stated to be 64.2 which makes the Toyota Prius Plus one of the most fuel efficient 7 seat mpv’s in the United Kingdom.

As with the price and servicing costs, the CO2 emissions level of the Toyota Prius plus MPV will be the lowest of all UK 7-Seaters. As a benchmark, the 5 seater Toyota Prius CO2 mass emission (combined) is 89g/km. This CO2 emission level is exceptionally low and puts the Toyota Prius 5 seater in car tax band A. The Toyota Prius Plus, should it have CO2 emissions levels of 100g/km or less, will fall in the same tax band as the 5 seat Prius.

Service and MOT costs can at this stage only be estimated. Taking the Toyota Prius as a benchmark, the expected costs for a full service are somewhat higher than £195 (£230 for a full service plus MOT). An interim service for a Toyota Prius costs £130 (£165 for an interim service plus MOT). The cost for a MOT with a 1-year guarantee for a 5 seater Toyota Prius is £59. A MOT with a 3-year guarantee is £119. It is advisable to wait for the launch of the Toyota Prius Plus before checking exact service and MOT costs, as they may be different from the above.

Toyota is well known for the technological sophistication of its cars. The Toyota Prius Plus is not likely to diverge from this reputation. The extras that come with the car include keyless smart entry, rain sensing wipers, duel zone climate control a DAB radio and more.
