Mazda 5 - 2012
For 2012, there are lots of new features that come with the updated version of the Mazda 5. Most importantly, it’s got a new engine: a 2.5-litre engine that generates a very respectable 157 break horsepower and even more respectable fuel efficiency at around about 25 miles per gallon. This is largely due to the i-stop technology employed, a stop-start mechanism that automatically turns the engine off at low speeds, leading to a fuel reduction of about 15 per cent during standard driving. Overall, this is a very affordable vehicle, especially given the low tax and price tag.
Mazda 5 – Third Row of Seating
In terms of fitting in seven passengers, the Mazda 5 does well, but it’s still something of a compromise, as would be expected. Clearly, this vehicle is never going to afford the space of a minivan or a four-wheel drive. As a result, the third row of seats is much better suited to children than it is adults, but it offers a whole lot of space when folded down, for shopping and other cargo. This is an ideal option for large, growing families, especially when budget is a primary consideration.
