Buying a Chevrolet Orlando
Chevrolet introduced its Orlando model in 2010 as a follow-up to the Tacuma, which was sold in Europe, and the HHR, which was sold in Canada. This is a handy vehicle offering seven seats in a compact MPV format.

General Motors had planned to build the Chevrolet Orlando in the USA but later decided to produce the vehicle in South Korea, where it is made in the company’s Kunsan factory. GM is planning to continue offering the Orlando to customers in Canada, where it is on sale this year, sold as a 2012 model.
The Chevrolet Orlando is available in a few different configurations. The body comes as a four-door minivan/SUV style, with a tailgate. Shoppers can have front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, both with the engine in the front.
A variety of engines can be had for the Orlando. At the entry level, there is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, called Ecotec in GM language. This option comes with a five-speed manual gearbox.
A pair of 2.0-litre diesels is also available. Both are four-cylinder turbocharged engines producing either 129hp or 150hp. The low-power model comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, the higher-power version offering the same or a six-speed automatic transmission.
At the top of the engine list is a 2.4-litre Ecotec petrol engine that uses direct injection to provide 178hp. This engine, too, is available with a choice of six-speed transmissions, one being manual and the other being an automatic.

The Chevrolet Orlando is produced on GM’s Delta II platform and has a wheelbase of just under 2.8 metres. Overall length comes in at 4.65 metres and the car weighs in at a relatively light 1,655kgs.
