Why was 7 seater cars: www.7-Seater-Cars.co.uk website created?
I created this 7 seater cars website following a long and tiresome search for a seven seater car. I was imminently expecting my fourth child and was more or less housebound due to my enlarged state. As a result I spent many an hour trawling the internet in search of a 7 seater car. Unfortunately at that time (about 3 years ago) I could not find one website which gave me a definitive list of all 7 seater cars available to buy in the UK.

My technical skills at developing a website were lacking but I continued to think about how useful such a site would be to someone else in search of a seven seater car.
Following a rather long period of post natal recovery I have now developed this website for your information. I hope it provides you with enough helpful information on 7 seater cars to enable you to make an informed decision when buying a 7 seater car.
My experience of buying a seven seater car:
Dear Seven Seater Car searchers,
In 2006 I bought a second hand V registration (2001) Mitsubishi Spacewagon 2.4 GDI for £4,995.00. The gearbox finally stopped working half way through the school run. I had to walk for about a mile with my four children to the nearest village.
Getting a replacement gearbox for the space wagon was very difficult. New gearboxes were available in Japan for £2,000 without shipping. I could not afford this.
To get a second hand gearbox involved another long and tiresome search of second hand car dealers and scrap yards. I eventually found a gearbox for £350 that cost another £500 for fitting. This was because the garage insisting on fitting a clutch at the same time. Unfortunately this gearbox had the wrong connection and as such could not be fitted to my car. To arrange a return and a refund took over six weeks. In the meantime my search for another gearbox took another fortnight.
I might add that this all took place shortly after giving birth!

I finally found another gearbox which did have the correct connection. I insisted that the scrap yard dealer speak direct with my mechanic to avoid any future problems. The gearbox cost £549 including VAT. When it arrived it was fitted for another cost of £250 from the mechanic.
However as soon as it was fitted it was clearly apparent that it was faulty. The familiar clicking and scraping noise of a faulty gearbox resonated through the bonnet.
My choices were either to search for yet another gearbox and pay for yet another fitting charge or to scrap the car and avoid any further costs.
I couldn't sell the car because no one would buy it. The faulty gearbox could be heard clearly.
The scrap yard who I bought the second gearbox from stated that they would only give me a refund if I returned the entire gearbox despite it being faulty. However doing this would involve another charge from the garage.
What I ended up doing was driving to a local Renault car dealer and trading the Mitsubishi Spacewagon in for a brand new Renault Clio on five years interest free credit. Fortunately the Renault garage didn't test drive the Mitsubishi before offering me £2,000 towards trading it in. I had no deposit to pay for the Clio and my payments were £106.42 per month. Although we didn't have a seven seater car, my husband and I did have use of a second car. When the six of us and our Labrador went anywhere together we simply went in tandem. The scrap car part dealer gave me a £150 refund after much arbitration.
Three years later I am now financially able to buy a brand new or nearly brand new seven seater car. My quest for the best and most affordable seven seater car has led me to finally creating a website that I wish I had access to three years ago.
I hope you find what you are looking for from this site. Hopefully you will not experience the difficulties I encountered with my 7 seater car three years ago!
